We’d been shaping this fragrance for months. Then, one hot summer afternoon, we wandered into a hidden church somewhere in Milan. In that hush, looking at the words ADORET TE, it felt as if the perfume finally introduced itself. The words landed with a quiet certainty, as though the scent had been waiting for them all along. Its breath of life.
What we didn’t know was that the phrase came from a private prayer written by St. Thomas Aquinas nearly eight centuries ago. Learning that later made the moment feel even more pre-destined, a small piece of history brushing against our randomly-decided path that day.
